What first inspired you to pursue a career in this field?
Parking wasn't part of my original career plan, but working as a student employee opened my eyes to the real growth potential in this field. What started as a temporary job became a genuine career path—I moved from student worker to frontline operations, then into IT, and eventually into management. Sometimes the best opportunities are the ones you don't see coming.
How long have you been in the parking/mobility industry, and what changes have you seen over the years?
Over 25 years, I've witnessed parking transform from a world of physical permits and coin meters to today's seamless digital ecosystem—mobile payments, contactless transactions, virtual permits, integrated mobility solutions, license plate recognition, and crowdsourced parking intelligence. It's been like watching an entire industry reinvent itself.
What advice would you give to women entering the parking or mobility industry?
Rely on wisdom and experience of those who have navigated similar paths before you, and do not hesitate, under any circumstances, to seek assistance from those who are willing to lend their support and guidance.
Why did you join Mobility Pathfinders?
Twenty-five years in parking taught me that talent alone isn't enough—you need visibility, mentorship, and advocates. I joined Mobility Pathfinders to help create those opportunities for the next generation of women leaders.
What’s one goal you’re working toward this year—professionally or personally?
Having recently reached the monumental milestone of completing my Doctorate, I find myself in a position where it is not only advisable but also incredibly refreshing to take a well-deserved break to recharge and reflect on this significant achievement.
What’s a book, podcast, or quote that’s inspired you lately?
"Start before you're ready. Don't prepare, begin."
What's your go-to coffee (or tea!) order during a busy day?
Caramel macchiato add whip and extra drizzle.
