What is something you learned about being a Mobility Pathfinder that you did not expect?

That there are so many avenues to get involved.  From the mentorship program, scholarship program, the amazing podcast, and now the PROM event in Milwaukee. Mobility Pathfinder came out of the gate in a big way celebrating the women who move this industry.

When you are not managing parking, what do you love spending time on?

I enjoy reading, mostly non-fiction historical based books. Travel is also another big passion when I find time to get away.

What upcoming industry changes are you feeling most energized about?

I’m really excited about where the transportation industry is headed right now. There’s a lot of buzz around alternative fuels and autonomous vehicles, and it feels like we’re getting closer to seeing those ideas become part of everyday life instead of just future concepts.

Also things like micromobility, last-mile services, and better mass transit options. They  are making it easier to get around without always needing a personal car. I just see a real opportunity for them to evolve transportation and make it feel more modern. To me, these new approaches are not about replacing parking. They are about making it smarter and better connected to everything else. I like the idea of places where you can move around easily without having to dedicate quite so many resources to parking, while still recognizing how important it is.

What is a recent moment, big or small, that has made you smile?

Attending the TPTA (Texas Parking and Transportation Association) Conference this past week, seeing all the amazing industry professionals that I am proud to call my peers and friends. Regional organizations don’t have the same large attendance as the national shows, but the smaller attendance provides an opportunity to develop deeper partnerships with other professionals that are likely navigating similar circumstances.

What is something people are most surprised to learn about you?

I am a pretty open book for better or worse, so I don’t know that there are many surprises left, but I think the fact that I have officiated two dozen weddings, including one in our parking office, has to be at the top of my list of fun facts about myself.
