Accidentally Arrived, Intentionally Stayed.

I wasn't raised to be a scholar or a professional; I was raised to get married and have children.
Yes, I was raised in the 20th Century with 15th Century ideals.
When I got married, I had children and stayed home with them. I love my kids to no end; however, I wanted more, I just didn't know what that was. So, I went to college and took random classes.
One day, my husband asked me if I'd be interested in a Parking Checker position. Although I had no idea what it entailed, I said, "Sure!" Little did I know, this would be the start of an incredible journey. An outdoor hobby with some compensation never hurt anybody!
Slowly but surely, I promoted through the ranks. Over the past 24 years, I've worked in four municipalities, earning promotions and accolades along the way.
And let me tell you, every time I overcome a challenge, learn something new, and reflect, I sometimes can't believe how much I can share with others to help them navigate their career.
I believe that no one should have to scrape their knees as they fall on their face while trying to build their career as I did. My goal is to share my experiences and help others plan their approach to their career.
Not everyone accidentally arrives in this industry as I did, but with the right guidance and support, anyone can thrive.
